This report is part of a technical series developed for the NSW Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting Program.
Soil condition was one of 13 natural resource targets recommended by the Natural Resources Commission in 2005 and adopted by the NSW Government in 2006.
A monitoring program was designed and implemented to provide baseline data of NSW soil condition through the establishment of soil condition monitoring sites across NSW.
Protocols for soil condition and land capability monitoring documents the establishment of these monitoring sites as part of a statewide network to monitor long-term changes in soil condition.
The baseline data provided a point from which to assess whether long-term changes in soil condition achieve the statewide target to improve soil condition by 2015.
