Archaeology workshops

Maritime archaeology study days at the National Maritime Museum

The Australian National Maritime Museum located at Darling Harbour, Sydney, runs occasional Maritime Archaeology School Workshops for senior school groups. These fun one day courses can be booked for Year 10-12 students studying history and archaeology.

The course is run by the Museum's Education staff and includes presentations by:

  • professional Maritime Archaeologists
  • Materials Conservators.

The three-part course includes

  • a slide presentation on NSW shipwrecks and maritime history,
  • a walk around the museum's galleries
  • a 'hands on' session looking at artefacts from a famous Sydney shipwreck.
