Cycling on tracks and trails is a great way to experience the remarkable diversity of nature and magnificent landscapes found in parks.
There are literally thousands of kilometres of management trails open to cyclists criss-crossing parks in NSW. For the adventurous, exhilarating mountain bike single-track and multi-track experiences are available in certain national parks. For more information on cycling opportunities in the national parks of NSW go to our cycling home page. Please take time to find out about some simple Rules of the trail and safety when cycling in parks before setting out.
Cyclists can use the park's management trails (unsealed, car-width trails). Single trails are for walkers only. You can also ride on the sealed roads in the southern section of the park.

General information
The fire trail from Pennant Hills Park to West Pymble winds its way through the eucalypt forest of Lane Cove National Park. It’s a picturesque route, with plenty of variety, including some technical parts and steep areas that are good for hill climb training.
There are lots of scenic spots along the way where you can enjoy a picnic lunch, including by Devlins Creek and at Whale Rock. The ride is 10km one-way, you can ride part of it if you feel like a shorter ride, or complete the return leg for a longer day on the bike. You can also head back via the Comenarra Parkway.
