Car touring
Access to the park is mainly via the Waterfall Way and Oxley Highway (and via smaller roads off the New England Highway). Short roads from the highways lead to the main visitor facilities, most of which are on the park boundaries. There are not many roads within the park suitable for car touring, and most are unsealed. All roads to visitor facilities are suitable for conventional cars except the 4WD tracks to Riverside, Youdales and Kunderang East. You'll also need a permits to gain vehicle access to these three sites.

A 4WD vehicle is required for access to Riverside, Youdales campground and East Kunderang Homestead and you'll also need a permit and key - contact the park office for more details.

General information
The Waterfall Way is a designated tourist drive, heading east from Armidale, via Dorrigo, down to the Pacific Highway. Along this route are many national parks and nature reserves, several of which are World Heritage listed.
