Nightcap National Park

NPWS is currently working to open Mt Matheson & Pholis Gap Tracks as a high priority. Risk & damage assessment is underway along the Historic Nightcap Track (including the Doon Doon Pass section). Weather permitting, works to reopen the Nightcap Track will commence the last week of May and will continue as required. Re-opening will be dependant on risk assessment and resources to adequately deal with any identified risks. Risks can and are likely to include overhead tree hazards (hanging branches) and land slip sections. Walkers are urged not to venture into these areas until further notice.”
