Copperhannia Nature Reserve
Overview
Copperhannia Nature Reserve was created in April 1972. It covers an area of 3497ha. View the detailed park and fire management documents.
Copperhannia comprises of a rugged mountain range within the catchment of the Wyangala Dam. It lies within the junction of two geological structures—the Hill End trough and Molong Geanticline, giving rise to the unique Copperhannia Thrust.
The reserve protects a reasonably large remnant of woodland often with a sparse understorey adjacent to the Abercrombie River, featuring very steep ridges incised by Hell Hole Creek and Little Hell Hole Creek.
