Accessible only by water, this beautiful beach is ideal for an intimate wedding ceremony.

Location:  shown on North Head map

Getting there: As this is a critical habitat area for the little penguin, anchoring is not permitted within 50 metres of the shore. To find out more about restrictions in the critical habitat area please contact the Harbour North Area Office on (02) 8968 6300.

This venue is not available for exclusive use. This venue is not available for exclusive hire. Please note, the area is not available at certain times of the year when it is a critical habitat for the little penguin.

Fees

Venue fees: Wedding ceremony consent fee: $330.00

Conditions

Permitted here:

  • Commercial catering. Conditions apply.
  • Non-amplified music.
  • Commercial photography.
  • Alcohol for toasting.
  • Personal public address system (for celebrant).
  • Table for signing the wedding certificate.

Not permitted here:

  • Tents/marquees.
  • Amplified/loud music and/or public address systems.
  • Candles or other open flames.
  • Confetti, rice, petals or similar.
  • Domestic animals.
  • Vines and other exotic plant material.
  • Roping off areas or signs re exclusive event.
  • Butterfly releases.
  • Pegging or staking items into the ground.
  • Depositing ice or iced water on grassed areas.

Other conditions: Chairs are permitted - maximum of 15. They must have continuous or rail type legs to avoid piercing the turf.

Please note:

  • When in force, total fire bans apply to events held at this venue.
  • All rubbish must be removed at the conclusion of the event.

Bookings, payments and refunds

Booking is essential. A completed application form and payment of the consent fee is required within 14 days of booking, otherwise the booking will be automatically cancelled. A consent requiring the signature of the Hirer will be issued. A signed copy of this document is required no later than six weeks prior to the date of the wedding ceremony.

Security deposit
In lieu of a security deposit NPWS (OEH) reserves the right to charge post-event fees for any damages, or failure to comply with all conditions as specified in the consent.

Cancellations

  • Greater than six (6) weeks prior to the date of the booking - 50% refund of the consent fee will be given.
  • Less than six (6) weeks prior to the date of the booking - no refund is given on the consent fee.

Wet weather cancellation
A refund of 50% of the consent fee will be given provided cancellation is received as follows:

  • for bookings commencing before 1pm, cancellation must be received no later than 4pm the day prior to the event
  • for bookings commencing after 1pm, cancellation must be received between 10am and 11am on the day of the event.

It is the responsibility of the HIRER to advise of cancellation. The HIRER is required to telephone Cadmans Cottage. All cancellations other than wet weather also required the HIRER to submit written advice.  This may be in the form of fax, email or letter. Refunds may take up to six weeks to process.

Can I ask people to move if they are in the location where I wish to hold my wedding?
There may be another ceremony in another area of the park on the same day, however we will not book two ceremonies for the same area and time.
 
Will there be other wedding ceremonies occuring at the same time as mine?
Hire of the site is not exclusive as the park is open to the public. A member of the wedding party can request people to move. This has not been an issue to date.
