The Hon. Frank Sartor MP

Frank Sartor was elected to the NSW Parliament in 2003 representing the electorate of Rockdale. Prior to this, Frank served as Lord Mayor of Sydney for eleven and a half years - Sydney's longest serving Lord Mayor. During this time Frank participated in the hosting of the Sydney Olympics as Mayor of the host city.
He was first appointed as a Minister in April 2003, becoming Minister for Energy and Utilities, Minister for Science and Medical Research, Assistant Minister for Health (Cancer) and Assistant Minister for the Arts. He introduced the Water Saving Fund, established the State Cancer Institute and introduced smoking bans in pubs and clubs.
Professor Mark Z. Jacobson
Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Stanford University
Mark Jacobson is Director of the Atmosphere/Energy Program and Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Stanford University. He studies the effects of energy systems and vehicles on climate and air pollution. Mark's findings on the links between black carbon and radiative forcing provided the original scientific basis to four currently proposed environmental laws in the US. In 2005, he received the American Meteorological Society Henry G. Houghton Award for 'significant contributions to modelling aerosol chemistry and to understanding the role of soot and other carbon particles on climate'.

Dr Martin Cope
Principal Research Scientist, Deputy Program Leader, Weather and Environmental Prediction Program, Centre for Australian Weather and Climate Research, CSIRO
Martin Cope has worked at CSIRO for 12 years, specialising in air quality modelling and its applications. He works with national and international clients on strategic air quality projects such as the relationship between climate change, air quality and health and the relationship between urban and rural pollution sources, population exposure and health impacts. He is also investigating the impact of alternative motor vehicle fuels on urban air quality; particles from anthropogenic and natural sources; the strategic assessment of photochemical smog impacts; and short-term air quality forecasting systems.
Dr Andrew Simpson
Senior Research Fellow, Curtin University
Andrew Simpson is a Senior Research Fellow at the Curtin University Sustainability Policy Institute. He has expertise in sustainable energy and transport systems from working in the renewable energy, electric power and hybrid/electric vehicle industries in Australia and USA for over 10 years - including Tesla Motors in California and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory in Colorado. He joined Curtin University to focus on plug-in vehicles, smart grids and renewable energy. He consults to a wide variety of electric vehicle stakeholders around Australia.
David McInnes
Group Manager, Environment and Climate Change, Linfox Pty Limited
David McInnes is Group Manager for Linfox, an Australian-based logistics company with over 20,000 employees in 11 Asia-Pacific countries and $2billion turnover. David designed and implemented Linfox's Carbon Emissions Reduction Program, which delivered a 28% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions over three years and is recognised as leading industry practice by industry, the media and the federal Minister for the Environment. David is a holder of the Australian Public Service Medal awarded for services to the transport, energy and mining industry and in 2009 was trained by Al Gore as a Climate Project Presenter.
Professor Mary O'Kane

Mary O'Kane is the NSW Chief Scientist and Scientific Engineer and also Executive Chairman of Mary O'Kane & Associates Pty Ltd. She sits on a range of boards and committies including being chair of the Australian Centre for Renewable Energy and the CRC for Spatial Information. She also leads major reviews and was the chair of the most recent Review of the Bureau of Meteorology.

Lisa Corbyn
Director General, Department of Environment and Climate Change
Lisa Corbyn is the Director General of the Department of Environment, Climate Change and Water. The Department brings together a range of climate change, environment protection, water resources, coastal, biodiversity, conservation and natural resources agencies and programs, including the National Parks and Wildlife Service, Environment Protection Authority, the Botanic Gardens Trust, and the NSW Office of Water.
Lisa has had a varied career as a senior manager in both the public and private sectors in Australia. She worked for over 10 years for the US Environmental Protection Agency prior to moving to Australia. She currently chairs the NSW Climate Change Science Network which advises on science priorities for adaptation to climate change.

Associate Professor Geoff Morgan

Northern Rivers University Department of Rural Health - University of Sydney
Geoff Morgan has more than 15 years experience in epidemiological research, as well as environmental health policy and education. His current work includes epidemiological studies into the health effects of smoke from various sources including bushfires and wood heaters, the effects of the quality of drinking water on health, and the health effects of heatwaves. Geoff has a joint appointment with the Northern Rivers University Department of Rural Health and the North Coast Area Health Service.
Christine Cowie
Woolcock Institute of Medical Research
Christine Cowie is an environmental epidemiologist engaged in research at the Woolcock Institute of Medical Research. She is currently responsible for the Air Quality & Respiratory Health Study, a large cohort study focused on health and air quality around the Lane Cove Tunnel, Sydney. Christine has previously taught Environmental Health at the University of Sydney, and worked in environmental health policy at the NSW Health Department, firstly in lead pollution-related issues and as Manager of the Water Unit.
Associate Professor Chris Rissel
Director, Health Promotion Service, Sydney South West Area Health Service; Clinical Associate Professor in Public Health, University of Sydney
Chris Rissel has worked on health promotion since 1985. He has a PhD in Epidemiology and is a Clinical Associate Professor in Public Health at the University of Sydney. He has just stepped down as President of the NSW Branch of the Australian Health Promotion Association and as Editor-in-Chief of the Health Promotion Journal of Australia. Chris's current research focuses on obesity prevention and active transport, cycling advocacy, and tobacco control. He is currently leading the South West Area Health Service's program for obesity prevention and is one of the authors of Cycling: Getting Australia Moving.

David Gray
Senior Transport Planner, Parramatta City Council
David Gray has over 14 years experience in transport planning. In 2001 he worked on the London Bus Initiative, managing 35 agencies on 70 strategic bus routes across London. In 2004 David became the Transport Planning Manager for Parramatta City Council. His work included developing the free city centre bus service, and managing a diverse and complex stakeholder group to identify new city centre bus routes. David has also lobbied the NSW State Government to retain the Parramatta ferry service, worked with the Ministry of Transport to improve local bus services and with the RTA to deliver additional bus priority. He has prepared Council's Integrated Transport Plan to accommodate planned growth.
Mohini Nair
Acting Director, Centre for Transport Planning, Transport New South Wales.
Mohini Nair is currently acting Director Centre for Transport Planning at Transport NSW. Prior to this she has worked as the General Manager Strategy and Metro Products with Sydney Metro Authority, Director Planning at the Redfern Waterloo Authority, Senior Advisor to the Property Council of Australia and Manager Strategic Planning at the City of Sydney Council. Mohini has a strong background in strategic and statutory planning with a focus on integrating land use, transport and urban renewal.
Jeff Angel
Executive Director, Total Environment Centre
Jeff Angel is the Executive Director of the Total Environment Centre and one of Australia's long-term environmental campaigners. He has worked across a broad range of issues since 1973, including urban sustainability, recycling, air pollution, public transport, forest protection, threatened species, coastal planning, corporate environmental sustainability and renewable energy. In 2008 Jeff published his book Green is Good. He was part of the lead-free petrol campaign and a major negotiator in the effort that gave rise to Action for Air.
Robert Verhey
Strategy Manager - Environment, Local Government and Shires Associations of NSW
Robert Verhey is the Strategy Manager- Environment at the Local Government and Shires Associations of NSW, where he has worked for 16 years. He covers or oversees the coverage of a broad range of environmental issues including waste management, natural resource management, climate change, ecologically sustainable development, contaminated land management, air quality and environmental regulation. The Local Government and Shires Associations of NSW is the peak representative and advocacy body for all 152 local councils in NSW.
