Reporting air pollution
Reporting air pollution
In most cases, concerns about pollution should be referred to the source or person causing the problem. The contact telephone numbers on the reporting pollution page should be used when an approach to the person causing the problem has not been or is unlikely to be successful.
Duty to report
(not relevant to members of the public)
Polluters must report certain pollution incidents to the appropriate regulatory authority. These are pollution incidents causing or threatening material harm to the environment. For information on who is under a duty to report, and when the duty to report applies, see Duty to Notify Pollution Incidents.
Smoky vehicles
The smoky vehicle enforcement program aims to reduce vehicle emissions to air by ensuring owners properly maintain their vehicles. A smoky vehicle is any motor vehicle that emits visible smoke continuously for over ten seconds. For more detailed information and online reporting forms go to the smoky vehicles web pages.
