Beachwatch - harbour beaches

Overview

The Beachwatch Program for harbour beaches was established in November 1994 to monitor and report on the water quality at estuarine swimming locations in the Sydney region. This program was previously called Harbourwatch.

Scope

The program currently includes 55 sites and covers:

• 10 sites in Pittwater
• 25 sites in Sydney Harbour
• 20 sites in Botany Bay and lower Georges River and Port Hacking

The harbour beaches daily bulletin is produced for estuarine swimming areas in the Sydney region and is available on the website or on freecall 1800 036 677.
