Schedules of the Biodiversity Conservation Act

The schedules of the Biodiversity Conservation Act, 2016 has a complete list of:

  • species and ecological communities listed as critically endangered, endangered or vulnerable in NSW
  • species listed as extinct or extinct in the wild in NSW
  • ecological communities that are considered to be collapsed ecological communities in NSW
  • populations of species listed as endangered in NSW
  • key threatening processes listed in NSW.

The schedules are maintained by the NSW Threatened Species Scientific Committee. They are available from the NSW Legislation website, and are updated regularly, whenever the Committee makes a determination to:

  • add or remove species, ecological communities and key threatening processes
  • amend the names or descriptions of species or ecological communities.

The following file is a modified version of the schedules which is arranged alphabetically. You should consult the NSW Legislation website if you require the official version of the schedules or the most up-to-date information on what is listed in the schedules.

Determinations made before 25 August, 2017 refer to the Threatened Species Conservation Act, 1995 and the Threatened Species Conservation Regulation, 2010. This legislation and regulation has been replaced by the Biodiversity Conservation Act, 2016 and the Biodiversity Conservation Regulation, 2017.

Minor amendments to the Schedules

The following determinations make minor amendments to the Schedules which relate to the taxonomic name of species or to correct any other minor errors or omissions in the Schedules.
