Communities

Care for your local environment

Support for communities to start or progress existing place-based environment projects.

The Our Place Program strengthens communities by working closely with local groups and providing support through grants, networking and capacity building events. Our Place encourages local groups such as community organisations, councils, volunteer networks and schools to engage their communities in environmental issues relevant in their local area.

Where are we working?

Our Place commenced in 2012 and is funded by the Environmental Trust. It has supported community environment projects in Greater Western Sydney, Hunter, Illawarra and Riverina regions.

In 2015, we worked specifically with community organisations working with Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) communities to help them care for their local environments. In 2016, the Program was extended to North West NSW.
