Environmental water use in New South Wales: annual report 2011-12

During 2011-12, OEH managed the delivery of more than 936,000 megalitres of environmental water to NSW rivers and water-dependent ecosystems, including contributions from the Australian Government and through The Living Murray program. OEH delivered this environmental water in collaboration with landholders, local advisory groups, NSW agencies, the Commonwealth Environmental Water Office and Victorian agencies.

Environmental water use in New South Wales: annual report 2011-12 is the third report of its kind and provides a summary of ways in which environmental water was used during the 2011-12 watering year. The report also demonstrates how partnerships between OEH and NSW local communities have contributed to the successful planning of water releases to maximise targeted ecological outcomes while minimising any adverse impacts of environmental water delivery on agricultural activities.
