Mememe Productions: Get Grubby

A picture of the winner of Me Me Me Productions, the winner of the Resource Efficiency Award 2016.Get Grubby is an online pre-school program that celebrates nature and empowers young children to do little things that make a big difference.

Created by Mememe’s Cate McQuillen and Hewey Eustace, Get Grubby provides 10 program units and 50 films starring Dirtgirl and Scrapboy, with music videos and clips and even karaoke versions of the songs to sing along to.

Get Grubby has lots of fun and practical activities, from composting, worm farming and growing a veggie patch to being energy and water wise. It helps children develop positive attitudes and values by engaging them in guided learning experiences that link people, plants, creatures and the land, reinforcing sustainable life practices.

Judges’ comment: ‘A creative business using their powers for engagement for sustainability outcomes, with significant success. Engaging the youth of today is producing leaders for tomorrow.’
