Riverina Red Gum Regional Employment and Community Development Fund - Round 2
Aim of the program
The Riverina Red Gum Regional Employment and Community Development Fund (RRGRECDF) aimed to support initiatives that maximised economic and social development opportunities that would be of broad benefit to the community of the NSW Riverina. The program was designed to benefit residents, businesses and workers in the local government areas of Balranald, Deniliquin, Murray, Conargo, Wakool, Berrigan and Murrumbidgee.
This $12 million program was part of the Government's $97 million support package for timber industry workers and regional communities affected by the establishment of the River Red Gum protected areas in the Riverina. Second and final funding round
Round 2 of the RRGRECDF was the final funding round and was restricted to small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) within the local government areas of Murray, Conargo, Deniliquin, Wakool, Balranald, Berrigan or Murrumbidgee.
Grants awarded in round 1 – 2010/2011
The Trust approved $9.5 million for 41 projects under Round 1 which has provided funding for a wide range of projects designed to boost economic and social development in the Riverina Red Gum areas. Grants awarded in round 2 - 2011/2012
