Central Coast Water Savings Fund

Round 3 successful projects

Round 3 of the Central Coast Water Savings Fund allocated $713,000 to 12 water efficiency and recycling projects, saving almost 40 million litres of potable water a year.

The Central Coast Water Savings Fund was established in partnership with the Gosford/Wyong Councils' Water Authority in 2006 to encourage investment in water savings on the Central Coast.

Previous funding rounds

To date, three funding rounds have been held, allocating $5.6 million to 60 projects, saving 725 million litres of water a year. They include recycling and stormwater harvesting projects for industry and sporting clubs and efficiency programs for schools and households.

Eligibility criteria

Activities that are eligible for funding include, but are not limited to:

  • water savings measures that will reduce water used in equipment, reduce leaks or improve operating and maintenance practices
  • measures that will reduce potable water consumption through substitution from alternate sources, such as rainwater.

How do I apply?

Applications are called within contestable funding rounds. When funding rounds open, they are advertised in local and metropolitan newspapers.

Anyone wishing to be notified when new funding rounds open can subscribe to the Climate Change Fund mailing list by sending their contact details to ccf@environment.nsw.gov.au or by calling the Environment Line on 1300 361 967.

Application form

Applications to the Central Coast Water Savings Fund are submitted on an Excel application form. Applicants are expected to provide detailed information about the savings potential for each project, including baseline data and predicted water savings over 10 years.

Funding agreements

Each successful applicant is required to enter into a Funding Agreement. Applicants are advised to read the sample agreement before submitting an application as variations to the standard clauses will not be considered.
