Business Water Award
- Caroma Industries Limited

Caroma Industries has set the benchmark for water efficient products and is considered Australia’s foremost designer, manufacturer, importer and distributor of domestic and commercial sanitary ware and bathroom products.

Caroma Industries have actively sought to reduce water consumption in their manufacturing processes saving more than 6 million litres of water each year through the installation of sub-flow meters.


Highly Commended awarded to Hog Works Pty Ltd, the rain water hog.

Business Sustainability Award
- AGL Energy

AGL Energy is the largest privately owned renewable energy generation company in Australia with more than 1,000 mega-watts of capacity. AGL Energy is also Australia’s largest retailer of new renewable energy with over 1 terra-watt hour of annual sales under contract.

Between 2007/08 and 2008/09 AGL Energy reduced the greenhouse gas emissions from their own operations by 18%.

AGL Energy has been recognised as a global leader in sustainability and carbon disclosure and last year was included on the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index.

Commercial Property Sustainability Award
- Investa Property Group

The Investa Property Group is a fully integrated real estate company and one of the largest owners of commercial office buildings in Australia.

Investa is committed to improving sustainability reporting procedures and has shown market leadership through their 'EcoSpace' initiative and Green Lease revisions. The group have also developed a 13 module sustainability Diploma to educate all staff, about how their jobs contribute to the organisation’s sustainability objectives. More than a third of Investa staff have completed the Diploma.

Small Business Sustainability Award
- Instyle Contract Textiles

Instyle Textiles develop their own range of commercial upholstery and screen textiles. They are world leaders in developing innovative textile products while reducing their ecological footprint and improving recycling processes.

Last year, working with the St James Ethics Centre they made significant contributions to the establishment of the National Small to Medium Enterprise Project to develop a national project helping other businesses become more sustainable.
