What date do nominations open?

Nominations for the 2012 Green Globe Awards open on Thursday 29 March 2012. View the Nomination Guide for further information on how to nominate for an award.

What date do nominations close?

Nominations for the 2012 Green Globe Awards will close at 5.00pm (AEST) on Thursday 7 June 2012.

How do I nominate for a Green Globe Award?

The Nomination Guide provides information on how to nominate, the 2012 award categories and the Terms and Conditions of Entry. Start your nomination here.

How do I know if my nomination has been received?

You will receive a confirmation email to the email address that you use to log into the online nomination system. This email will contain a confirmation number.

You will receive one confirmation email with a confirmation number for each nomination you submit.

If you do not receive this email, please contact greenglobes@environment.nsw.gov.au or call the OEH on 1300 361 967.

I have been a previous winner can I re-enter?

Yes. Previous winners are encouraged to nominate again.

Please note previous entries will not be accepted, you must provide a 2012 nomination using the online nomination system and detail the organisation's achievements between January 2011 and June 2012.

Can I enter more than one category?

You may only enter a project / initiative / organisation in ONE award category.

If your organisation has more than one project you may enter each project once, in separate award categories. You must create a new entry for each category you intend to enter.

If your organisation, the individual or project is based outside greater metropolitan Sydney you will automatically be considered for the Regional Sustainability Award.

Do I have to stick to word limits for each of the judge's criteria?

Yes. Word limits are set to assist nominees in providing concise details of their project or initiative. A maximum of two supporting documents for each of the judges criteria may accompany your nomination (maximum of eight documents).

You may use hyperlinks to support claims made in your nomination in your answer to the judges criteria.

Can I mail my nomination form?

No. Hard copies of nominations will not be accepted. Nominations will only be accepted via the online nomination system.

You can save, review and print your nomination before you submit the final version.

How can I keep parts of my nomination confidential?

Please indicate if any confidential information is provided in your entry that is not for public release. Any confidential information will be withheld from case studies and public release.

Can I provide more information to support my entry?

Yes. You are encouraged to provide supporting documentation to support claims made in your nomination.

Relevant supporting documentation may include media or communication plans, information sheets, program brochures, video footage, academic articles, technical reports, sustainability reports and/or annual company reports.

To provide supporting information, click reply on the email confirmation. You will receive an email confirmation once you submit your nomination. Keep the subject line the same (to include your confirmation number) to enable your supporting information to be matched to your entry.

Why is my email containing supporting information being returned to me undelivered?

Please check the size of the email. The OEH email system will only accept emails to a maximum of 7.5MB.

If your email is larger, split the supporting information into more than one email. If split your email, please keep the subject line of the email the same with your confirmation number. You can label as outlined below:

Can my entry be returned?

No. Entries cannot be returned.

How are the Green Globe Award winners decided?

An independent judging panel of experts will review and score nominations against the judging criteria to determine award winners. The judges may elect to present more than one award per category to represent the diversity of achievements in the award category.

How do I get involved in becoming a sponsor of the Awards?

Sponsorship opportunities for the Green Globe Awards are now open. The Sponsorship Prospectus provides information on how to become a sponsor of the 2012 Green Globe Awards.

How are the winners announced?

Winners of the 2012 Green Globe Awards will be announced at a cocktail style function hosted by the Minister for the Environment at NSW Parliament House. Nominees and finalists will receive an invitation to the event via the email provided on the entrant details screen, completed during nomination.

How do I become a finalist?

The judges will decide the top entries in each award category as 2012 finalists. The finalists will be announced in late June. All nominees will receive an email congratulating the 2012 finalists.

How much does it cost to attend the Awards ceremony?

Attendance at the Green Globe Awards ceremony is by invitation only. There is no cost to attend for invited guests.

Invitations to the event will be emailed in July. To confirm your attendance you must reply by the date indicated on the invitation.
