Statement of significance:

One of the oldest buildings in the Waverley Council area and a good example of a simple worker's cottage. Retains original form despite loss of fabric. Part of an historic grouping centred on Blenheim and Isabella Streets. Local significance.

Description

Construction years: 1890-
Physical description: Very old worker's cottage. Stone originally, now rendered. Shingle roof is a replacement. Simply styled, with gabled roof.

Current use: Dwelling house.
Former use: Dwelling house.

History

Historical notes: First appears in Sands Directory in 1861, known as "Bulwell Cottage". Possibly built earlier. Occupied from 1861 to about 1917 by Richard Watkins, builder. Occupied by Mrs EA Watkins in the 1920's to 30's.
