Statement of significance:

Excellent local example of a late Victorian Italianate house. One of few nineteenth century buildings to survive in this locality. Apart from unsympathetic roofing appears essentially unaltered. Local significance.

Description

Construction years: 1890-1915
Physical description: Two storey Italianate house, c. 1895. Front projection with cast iron, double verandah beside. Verandah also features decorative masonry tower to entry. Wide canted bay to projection with peaked roof over. Main roof hipped, now in unsympathetic concrete tiles. Bullnosed iron roof to verandah. Excellent Second Empire cap to tower, in ripple iron. Decorative lacework to balcony balustrade and valances. Stucco work includes moulded cornices, architraves, chimney mouldings and arch heads to tower and lower windows. Dentilation between storeys of special note, as are tinted multiple panes to bay windows. Cast iron pots to chimneys. Security bars to windows and door. Fence replaced.
