Statement of significance:

Outstanding example of a well integrated, early twentieth century addition to a Late Victorian villa. Features some excellent detailing and little altered. Attractively set on a prominent site. Investigation of history required. High local significance.

Description

Construction years: 1890-1945
Physical description: Appears to be a Late Victorian villa, c. 1890, with replacement verandah, c. 1920. Despite the stylistic differences the two integrate extremely well. Original building is of symmetrical design with canted bays on either side of large main door. Impressive patterned slate roof with magnificent chimneys. Good mouldings to bays and good stucco eaves brackets. Original door with sidelights and skylight of special note. Verandah is flat roofed, supported by large Tuscan columns above perforated stone balustrade. Attractive Classical simplicity and proportioning. Elevated site with central steps (damaged) down to excellent stone fence, with wrought iron infill.
