Statement of significance:

Outstanding, Federation period, transitional style, terraced pair. Of special note for its overall balance, proportioning, face brick, central tower, and excellent stucco and cast iron detailing. In good condition except for enclosures. High local significance.

Description

Construction years: 1890-1915
Physical description: Excellent terraced pair. Transitional Victorian/Edwardian style. Queen Anne and Classical influences. Probably c. 1895. Spoiled by balcony enclosures but otherwise little altered. Symmetrical façade with central, feature projection over entry. Incorporates excellent moulded arches to ground floor and balconettes above. Has its own hipped slate roof with terra cotta ridge capping. High parapet to remainder of front façade. Red face brick with outstanding use of decorative render, including mouldings and roughcast. Original cast iron verandahs and balconies of special note. Excellent, individually patterned lacework. Includes brackets and friezes to verandahs, and brackets, trim and balustrading to balconies. Original palisade fencing.
