Statement of significance:

Intact example of an early twentieth century cottage. Built at the commencement of the area's first major boom. Extremely rare to find a survivor from this period in such good condition. Of special note for its original polychrome face brickwork. High local significance.

Description

Construction years: 1890-1915
Physical description: Late Federation cottage. Survives virtually unaltered but needs maintenance. Standard asymmetrical form. Tuckpointed, polychrome, light brick, with darker brick used for quoining. Terra cotta tiled roof. Timber and roughcast gable. Rectangular bay below with paired casement windows. Other windows are double hung. Brick verandah piers with paired timber columns and small decorative brackets. Roughcast balustrade and chimney. Original door and skylight. Stone foundation. Fence replaced.

Historical notes: First appears in Sands Directory in 1919. Known as "Leumeah" from that time.
