Statement of significance:

Rare early timber cottage, probably built as a weekender originally. Social, historical and aesthetic interest. Typical of its period with some fine individual detailing. Especially valuable for its intactness, down to original picket fence. One of the oldest houses in this area. High local significance.

Description

Construction years: 1890-1915
Physical description: Excellent, Edwardian style, timber cottage, probably c. 1915. Needs maintenance but virtually intact. Lapped weatherboarding. Pyramidal corrugated iron roof with gable over front projectiojn. Exposed rafter eaves. Half timbered gable with pebbledash decoration. Neat, hipped verandah roof joins with main roof. Unusual timber decoration to verandah, with sunrise motif brackets. Stop chamfered posts. Also of note is original door, with 9 translucent panes, and triple casement windows, with small coloured panes. Original picket fence and gate.
