Statement of significance:

Outstanding example of Federation architecture, exhibiting Queen Anne and Arts and Crafts influences. Essentially unaltered. One of the best old houses in the area. Local significance.

Description

Construction years: 1890-1915
Physical description: Two storey, Federation house in excellent condition, c. 1915. Queen Anne and Arts and Crafts influences evident. Dichromatic, tuckpointed brick. Complex, symmetrical, slate roof. Forms one building with adjoining shopfront and residence on corner of Bondi Road, common roof. Solid verandah and balcony across front, balcony partly enclosed. Stone piers to verandah with shingled balustrade to balcony. Excellent timber decoration to both. Decorative gable incorporates timber, roughcast and shingling. Some small coloured panes to bay window. Brick and roughcast chimneys. Original stone fence with fretwork infill.
