History

Historical notes: This was originally the site of a cottage, used as a convent by the Sisters of St Joseph from 1896. Eventually a new convent (1917), school and church (1918) were built on adjoining land in Wellington Street. The 1918 St Patrick's Church was replaced by the present building in 1929-1930.
