Description

Construction years: 1851-1890
Physical description: Park takes the form of a shallow valley. The planting is set out around the steeper sides. This leaves an open informal grassy play area in the centre. Playground, with equipment c. 1980. Traditional local picnic shelter. An unusual stone block climbing assemblage. Sandstone outcrops are noticeable around the park edges. Significant mature trees, dating from c.1910. Numerous Port Jackson figs (to 13m high) and three Moreton Bay figs (to 15m high and 25m spread). Some of these trees are notable for their fine symmetrical form. Recent planting in separate groupings from period trees generally sympathetic.
