Description

Construction years: 1891-1920
Physical description: Two pink granite horse troughs with copper and Monel(?) metal fittings. Stately but simple design. 3.3m long by 0.7m wide. Inscribed "Amelia Hall 1809-1891". Lower drinking trough at pavement level is an unusual feature, presumably for dogs. There was once a mechanism (now defunct) at one end of each trough, probably for regulating water supply.
