What householders think about the program
There are many reasons why over 178,000 householders have decided to join the program, and the most common ones are to reduce their electricity use and save money on their power bills.
Before joining the program, many householders thought they were already doing everything they could to save energy, and were pleasantly surprised to learn that there were some simple and easy things they could do to save more.
Here’s what some householders have said about the program.
Privacy of householders
We take privacy very seriously. The Office of Environment and Heritage (OEH) engages an external contractor, Fieldforce Services Pty Ltd (Fieldforce) to deliver the Home Power Savings Program. Any information collected by OEH or Fieldforce during the Home Power Savings Program’s energy assessment will not be used for any other purpose without the written consent of the householder, except for purposes listed as exemptions in the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998 (e.g. prevent danger to someone). OEH’s privacy policy provides more information about how OEH handles personal information that it collects.
Program partners
As well as communicating with English-speaking households, the program is committed to engaging with culturally and linguistically diverse communities, plus Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
To effectively engage with lower income households, the Home Power Savings Program has formed strong partnerships with state and locally based government agencies, non-government agencies and community groups.
As these program partners are working with households in need on a daily basis, they are well placed to refer people to the Home Power Savings Program, plus provide valuable feedback and advice on the challenges their communities are facing.
