Energy Efficiency Expo a boost for the Hunter

Media release: 6 November 2014

The cheapest energy is energy you don’t use and this is a key message in an upcoming Energy Efficiency Expo being held at Kurri Kurri in November.

Kurri Kurri TAFE campus will be awash with ideas, innovations and assistance in energy efficiency on the afternoon of Thursday 20 November.

Resource Efficiency officer with the NSW Office of Environment and Heritage Aaron Bristow said this free expo is designed to assist businesses, households, government and non-government organisations save money and avoid energy costs.

“Speakers, displays and presentations will cover topics including finance for energy efficiency, calculating the savings and government support”, Mr Bristow said.

“There are some outstanding examples of NSW businesses implementing projects with excellent payback periods saving tens of thousands of dollars each year from their energy bills and making them more productive and competitive”, he said.

“Who among local businesses, councils and community organisations can honestly say they are happy paying for wasted energy?

“This expo will show how businesses that save energy, save money”, Mr Bristow said.

The free expo running from 12 noon to 7PM will include local trade displays and offer detailed advice and support on a wide range of energy related topics.

Registrations for the event can be made at http://register.environment.nsw.gov.au/expo

The Energy Efficiency Expo will be followed on Friday 21st November by a Clean Energy Conference being convened by the Newcastle University, Tom Farrell Institute which is also being held at Kurri Kurri TAFE campus.
