Green Globe Awards shortlist announced

Environment Minister Mark Speakman today announced this year’s Green Globe Awards finalists.

Mr Speakman said the Green Globe Awards, which were in their 16th year, were the leading environmental awards in NSW recognising environmental excellence, leadership and innovation.

“This year’s 43 finalists in 16 different categories deserve to be acknowledged for their work in protecting the environment,” Mr Speakman said.

This year’s finalists include industry experts, councils, architects, designers and small community groups.

An independent panel of leading environmental experts selected the finalists for projects that demonstrated innovation, leadership, resource efficiency, sustainability and wildlife habitat restoration.

The Green Globe Awards’ winners will be announced at a ceremony on Thursday, 15 October at the Art Gallery of NSW.

The Premier’s Award for Environmental Excellence, the best-of-the-best, also will be announced at the event.
