Yengo Wilderness Assessment
This wilderness assessment was undertaken as part of the forestry reform process agreed by the State and Federal Governments. Some 193,000 hectares in Yengo National Park, Parr State Conservation Area and adjoining lands north of Sydney were assessed for wilderness quality.
The NPWS identified 134,900 hectares of wilderness within Yengo National Park and some adjoining lands. The assessment report was on public exhibition from 12 December 2001 to 28 February 2002. This provided an opportunity for the community to comment on the assessment process and the wilderness recommended for declaration in the report.
You can download the report below, together with the information leaflet which accompanied it on public exhibition.
