There were eight hours of dust recorded in Broken Hill on 29 August 2017. Dust came into town on the back of strong winds from the north west. Dust was detected at other downwind sites, but readings were below the minor haze level. The very dry and warmer than average conditions have hindered the normal winter increase of groundcover in the north west of New South Wales.
