Industry and the environment survey
DECC’s benchmark Industry and the environment study investigated the adoption of environmental management by NSW industry to support the process of making improvements in environmental performance.
The findings of this study show that, although there is a high level of awareness of the need for environmental management throughout industry and in some sectors significant changes have occurred, overall, the general level of adoption is at an early stage.
As the first major study on this topic it provides essential information for planning, implementing and evaluating environmental programs for industry.
Sydney business waste survey
In 2004, over 4000 businesses across the Sydney Metropolitan area were surveyed about how they dealt with their waste and what materials they recycled.
Disposal-based commercial and industrial waste survey
During May and July 2003, DECC undertook a survey to measure commercial and industrial waste disposed of at Class 1 and Class 2 landfill facilities across the Sydney Metropolitan Area. The report presents the overall results.
