Taking action on climate change

Taking action on climate change is not only a challenge NSW is up to, it’s a challenge we can lead on. That’s why we, like so many countries and companies around the world, have committed to achieving net zero emissions by the year 2050.

The NSW Government is committed to effective action on climate change.

NSW climate change policy

The NSW Climate Change Policy Framework outlines our long-term objectives to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050 and to make NSW more resilient to a changing climate.

This policy framework builds on our strong track record of expanding clean energy, helping households and businesses reduce their bills by saving energy and preparing for the impacts of climate change.

It guides the NSW Government's policy and programs.
