Rural infrastructure buffer distances

The Regulation provides maximum clearing distances for rural infrastructure in the Western Division and Central and Coastal regions of NSW (see map) as well as for small holdings and land zoned rural-residential or large lot residential.

Western Division rural infrastructure clearing distances and areas

The types of infrastructure that are included in the rural infrastructure RAMA for the Western Division and Central Region is unlimited. However the Regulation specifies maximum clearing or buffer distances for the construction, operation and maintenance of the following specified types of infrastructure:

The types of rural infrastructure that are RAMAs on small holdings and on land in an area zoned as rural-residential or large lot residential are specified in the Regulation and are limited to the construction, operation and maintenance of the following:

Protected riparian land

The types of rural infrastructure and the maximum clearing distances and areas are different for protected riparian land. Protected riparian land is land within, or within 20 metres of the bed or bank, of a prescribed stream.

Clearing for rural Infrastructure on protected riparian land is subject to the following limits due to its environmental sensitivity:
