Corporate planning and reporting

OEH’s strategic direction is guided by:

• NSW 2021, the NSW Government’s long-term strategy for NSW
• the corporate plan
• annual reports, OEH’s annual performance reports to stakeholders.

OEH also has policies and strategies which:

• guide the professional decisions of management and staff, and govern the sound commercial and ethical basis of their work
• ensure quality and equitable service for stakeholders and customers.

Guiding decisions and acting ethically

• The code of ethical conduct (pdf file 89KB) guides everyone in OEH in acting ethically in the workplace.
• The child safe and friendly environment policy (pdf file 204KB) lays out procedures OEH will follow to foster a safe, friendly and positive environment for children and young people.
• The intellectual property policy outlines ways in which intellectual property held by OEH is created, used, shared, protected and commercialised.
• The fraud and corruption prevention strategy explains OEH’s balanced approach to managing risk.
• Overseas travel reports provide details of overseas visits and expenditure.
• The statement of business ethics describes OEH’s commitment to conducting its business on a sound commercial and ethical basis.
• Aboriginal affairs documents explain OEH’s role in protecting Aboriginal culture and heritage.

Providing quality service

• OEH’s guarantee of service establishes the standards of service people can expect from OEH.
• The multicultural policies and services plan describes the ways in which OEH continues to pursue strategies and actions that assist in achieving the Government’s policies and principles of multiculturalism.
• The disability action plan explains ways in which access to services and employment opportunities for people with a disability can be improved.
• The external complaints and allegations policy explains OEH’s approach to dealing with complaints and allegations.
• The science statement describes ways in which OEH’s scientific research and actions support environmental management programs.
• Aboriginal people, the environment and conservation principles guide the way in which OEH conducts its environment and conservation business with Aboriginal people.
