Principles for engagement
The Office of Environment and Heritage (OEH) believes that engagement leads to better decisions that take into account the various interests, values, needs and perspectives of the people our decisions affect.
The five OEH principles for engaging with communities and stakeholders guide OEH when engaging on policies, programs or projects so that:
- Our engagement is fit for purpose
- We are open and transparent
- We actively seek input from a range of sources
- We are inclusive
- We listen, and learn from the past
Embedding these principles in the way that OEH works will benefit our colleagues, communities and our environment. The principles also underpin our approach to delivering strategic goals under the OEH Corporate Plan.
