The inquiry reviewed how the Heritage Act 1977 and the broader NSW heritage regulatory system are working. It considered ways to improve the recognition and protection of heritage across the state using approaches that reflect best-practice.
The NSW Heritage Strategy also includes a commitment to reform the Heritage Act to deliver the inquiry’s recommendations.
