Department of Natural Resources

The Department of Natural Resources was abolished in April 2007. Information formerly held on its website has been transferred to other NSW government agency sites.

The Office of Environment and Heritage website has information on:

• NSW natural resources, including vegetation and soils
• sustainability including water and energy savings, resource use and waste management
• coasts, estuaries and floodplain management
• water pollution
• environmental water purchases for NSW Government
• climate change.

The NSW Office of Water , which is part of Department of Primary Industries, has information on:

• water management, including water policy, water sharing plans, water availability and allocations, monitoring, modelling, environmental flows, ecology and water quality
• water licensing, approvals and trading
• urban water, including local water utilities and country town water.
