Energy Savings Action Plans data

The plans identified a range of cost-effective and potentially cost-effective energy efficiency opportunities that could deliver significant energy and cost savings. Implementation of the plans was voluntary.

After plans were approved, organisations were required to submit annual reports on the implementation of energy efficiency opportunities for the next three years.

The plans were developed by:

  • NSW businesses with sites that used more than 10 gigawatt hours a year of electricity (i.e. large sites)
  • NSW Government agencies with sites that used more than 10 gigawatt hours a year of electricity (i.e. large sites)
  • NSW local councils with populations of more than 50,000 people

The program began on 28 October 2005 and ended on 31 December 2012.
