Statement of significance:

One of the better rural Federation houses in the district, certainly more decorative than most. Has special interest as well for its less common symmetrical or "bookend" form. A better example in a group of interesting older style houses and ruins along Snows Road. Essentially unaltered. Set in attractive grounds close to the roadway.
Note: The State Heritage Inventory provides information about heritage items listed by local and State government agencies. The State Heritage Inventory is continually being updated by local and State agencies as new information becomes available. Read the OEH copyright and disclaimer.

Physical description: Large Federation house of timber construction. Symmetrical design with long verandah between projecting gabled ends. Also has verandah on south side, now partly enclosed to rear. Horizontal weatherboarding. Corrugated iron roofing, including skillion verandahs. More decorative than most other rural dwellings in the district. Verandah valence and brackets of special note. Simple finials to gables. Original double hung windows with small upper panes. Brick chimneys. Quite well preserved. Good planting creates an attractive backdrop. Built close to road permitting fine views of house and detailing.
Modifications and dates: Minor alterations only including replacement of window hoods. Lacework to gables may not be original but is not unsympathetic. Side verandah partly enclosed towards rear. Otherwise hardly altered and in good condition.
