Statement of significance:

A fine timber cottage from the Federation period. Varies somewhat from standard designs and features some fine detailing. Has suffered some replacement of fabric and loss of minor detail but essentially unaltered.
One of Dorrigo's few older surviving houses of any note.

Description

Construction years: 1905-
Physical description: Federation weatherboard cottage, probably c1905. L-shaped plan, but with all gabled main roof. Bull nosed verandah continues around front gabled projection. Good French doors with offset mullions. Tongue and groove boarding of special note. Now partly hidden by dense planting.
Modifications and dates: Some replacement of fabric (e.g. verandah posts) and minor detail but essentially intact.
Further information: Site visit 2009: front bedroom window not original; new guttering and roofing; extension at rear, reasonably sympathetic; mostly original doors and windows; window at side replaced with louvres and fibro; carport to side; verandah added to rear; original chimney; good hedging and garden.
