Statement of significance:

Fine local example of a Federation house and one of the town's few surviving older houses of note. Essentially unaltered. Elegant roof form gives a special picturesque quality on a prominent corner site.

Construction years: 1910-
Physical description: Federation weatherboard house with iron roof, c1910. L-shaped plan arrangement. Gambrelled main roof continues down over verandah, which returns to the side. Good decorative timberwork to gable and roof gambrels. Very good sidelights to double hung window below gable. Simple verandah posts. Modern balustrade. New picket fence. Good pergola over gateway. Prominent corner position with well planted garden. Let down by verandah enclosure at rear (Hickory Street frontage).
Modifications and dates: Verandah balustrade and fence are relatively recent, but sympathetic. Spoiled only by rear verandah enclosure. Otherwise appears unaltered.
Further information: Site visit 2009: roof line and shape changed; new roofing and guttering; pergola removed; decorative timberwork on front gambrel removed; original fence intact at side; new front door; windows intact, but flyscreens used; verandah vertical balustrades replaced with timber slotted balustrades.
