Construction years: 1900-
Physical description: Turn of the century cottage, set prominently on a large corner block on the northern outskirts of town. Weatherboard with ripple iron cladding on southern side. Traditional Georgian style. Pyramidal iron roof. Ogee verandah returns to northern side. Otherwise design is symmetrical. Stop chamfered verandah posts. Four-paned double hung windows. Enjoys an attractive rural setting.
Modifications and dates: Needs repairs and maintenance but original fabric survives otherwise intact.
Sympathetic repairs and maintenance undertaken since 2006.
Further information: Site visit 2009: some new roofing and guttering; eaves at rear for verandah.
Current use: Residential
Former use: Residential

Historical notes: Information from owner: The building is an early federation workman's bungalow being constructed of rosewood timber and weatherboards and corrugated iron roofing. It is also adorned with a bull nose veranda and cedar double sash sliding windows.

The significance of the 3 bedroom cottage is that it was a series of cottages built along Vine Street for workmen employed on the Dorrigo steam railway. Few of these cottages remain in close to original condition due to the aggressive Dorrigo weather, the materials used at the time, and post war renovation.
