Construction years: 1890-1890
Physical description: This Victorian mansion has a projecting two storey bay cast iron verandah and internally many elaborate features.
The tree plantings in P.L.C.'s grounds are important screening landscape elements, which give enclosed quality to Boundary Street.
The school building has the same elements of a bay and verandah.

Historical notes: Shubra Hall was built in 1869 for Anthony Hordern III and it stood on 12 ha of land with gardens and fields in what was known as Ashfield Heights.
Anthony Hordern sold the property to J Coghlan, the manager of the Sydney Diamond Drill Company.
In 1891 it was taken over by P.L.C. and used as an administrative block. The school building was designed by Harry Kent and built in 1890.
