Statement of significance:

This complex of well maintained imposing buildings are set in attractive spacious grounds and are of state significance for their architectural quality and as a municipal landmark.

Designer/Maker: Sheerin and Hennessy Architectural Firm
Construction years: 1894-1894
Physical description: According to the National Estate Listing Form, the principal convent building is a Dutch Renaisance style with terra cotta mouldings. Both main buildings are symmetrical and feature arched top windows and arched openings.


Historical notes: The architectural of Sheerin and Hennessy designed the convent and school building. It was the first Catholic secondary school in Burwood opening in 1894 and being run by the Dominican Nuns.
In 1936, the college acquired 'Holroyd'.
