Statement of significance:

St. Paul's Church is of State significance as a fine example of Edmund Blacket's ecclesiastical work and as a focal point of the Municipality.

Construction years: 1871-1924
Physical description: This Gothic Church situated high on Burwood Road and constructed of sandstone. Its features are include a slate roof, a tower, stone tracery and stained glass arched windows.


Historical notes: St. Paul's Church was designed by Edmund Blacket in 1871, and was built in stages. The tower was completed in 1924 to a design by E. Lindsay. The transepts and chancel were added in 1882. The choir, vestry and tower base were added in 1883.
