Construction years: 1910-
Physical description: No.40 is a single storey house with return verandah and complex roof shape covered with slate.


Historical notes: Built 1910-11 on Clissold Estate, which was subdivided in October 1901. Early houses on the subdivision. No.40 was built for Dr. William Newton, and No.44 was built for Dr. R. W. McCredie.
