Statement of significance:

This Federation cottage is representative of its type. It has retained original elements and makes a significant aesthetic contribution to Fry in particular and the Grafton in general. It is enhance by being one of a pair at 144 Fry Street.

Physical description: Federation weatherboard residence with iron roof and gablet ventilation. Bullnosed front verandah which is supported by turned posts with drip moulds. Under the verandah board is a decorative carved wooden ( or may be pressed metal) panel similar to that at 176 Queen street. Rendered piers with ashlar work flank the front steps. It is one of a pair with the residence next door at 144 Fry Street. It has a mature garden with azaleas.

Historical notes: The early history of this dwelling has not been researched, however when the sewage was connected in 1935 the owner was a Mrs F. I. Wilson. At that time the street number was 56 Fry Street. Councils building files show an application for additions to the building in 1992 and in 1993 application for a carport and pergola.
